I was asked by my head, what if i'll be transferred to another department with a higher position, am I willing?

At first, I was hesitant to tell him the truth.

I'd like to tell him immediately that I don't like that kind of idea.

I said, if it is their (the administration) decision, and it will help me grow (professionally,) then why not. But... I realized, I will be the one who will suffer if I'll let them decide for me. I then told him that I prefer my present position. I don't like to handle higher positions because I know I don't posses leadership skills (which according to him can be learned but for me, if it's not innate, it'll not be as good as those who are born to lead) I'd rather be like this but happy than be be there unhappy and others also suffer.
